An association for musicians and lovers of music The Basin Music Festival (TBMF) is set in the foothills of the beautiful Dandenong Ranges, 35 kilometres east of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It is a community festival, with most of the guests and musicians from local areas. Since 2004, The Basin Music Festival Association Inc, run by volunteers, has helped to establish The Basin (and the foothills region) as a valuable destination for live-music, recreation, and culture. A registered charity and endorsed as an ATO Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR), The Basin Music Festival Association Inc showcases and promotes culture and live music through a series of fun events, with the main event being the yearly weekend festival in March. As it is a not-for-profit organisation, all funds earned or donated go directly back into the festival. (See Rules of Association below).
Serving the region in and around the City of Knox, these non-profit events promote community harmony, local musicians, community groups, volunteerism, communal facilities, diversity, accessibility and neighbourhood pride. Artists, community groups, local businesses and festival attendees gather yearly at "The Basin Triangle" to enjoy a wide range of musical styles from hundreds of musicians on multiple stages. Young musicians who are starting out enjoy a supportive, inclusive and professional environment - sharing the stage and networking with established musicians. TBMF may also present a concert series over the summer months, events for young people, a song-writing competition and special features from time to time. The festival is a great opportunity for families and friends to meet up and have a day of free music and fun in the park, with different activities featured from time to time (like a community market) and excellent food and drink from the local shops. Musicians and audiences alike love the festival’s great community vibe. The Basin Music Festival Association Inc • ABN 89735884172 • tbmf.org.au | Generously supported by
