We look to promote new and local artists and showcase original music, as well as crowd favourites.

Note that this is a non-profit, volunteer-run community festival with a large number of performers, so we cannot pay musicians for their performances. Musos, please note that volunteers have worked thousands of hours to make your (unpaid) showcase set possible. We strive to support culture and live music by offering high-quality production, performance recordings, no-fee merch sales service, a friendly environment to meet and collaborate with other musos and a nice community vibe.
Time Line
- 31 December 2025 - expressions of interest close
- 31 January 2026 - applicants will have been notified if application was successful and provided with more details
- 28 February 2026 - musical program locked in and published - marketing and promotion in full swing
- 20, 21, 22 March 2026 - The Basin Music Festival (the event starts on the evening of Friday 20 March and concludes Sunday 22 March)
Our Aboriginal heritage
The Basin Music Festival Association acknowledges, respects and shares in the customs of the Kulin Nation. We pay our respects to the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation, traditional custodians of the land on which we hold The Basin Music Festival, and pay our respects to their elders past and present. We extend that same respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, members of the oldest living culture in the world.
